ABOUT ANDREW

Andrew A. Melzer is a composer, lyricist, record producer, and writer. He started his music education as a six year old boy, completing a year of Conservatory theory and solfege in Budapest, Hungary. He then began twelve years of violin training, first in Budapest and later in Toronto. He studied violin in Canada with the prominent violinist/educator Irene Haydu, and composition with Dr. Samuel Dolin. After competing in the Greater Toronto Kiwanis Music Festivals in his teens for solo violin and winning ten awards, Andrew completed his education at The Royal Conservatory of Music. He then produced a bilingual pop version of a song called "Canada" which quickly became a national success, celebrating 100 years of Canada's Confederation.

In honour of the 150th birthday of Canadian Confederation, he has written a new song "We Love You Canada". Sung by the Confederation Centre Youth Choir, the song is now available in both English and French.

Over the years, his productions enjoyed international distribution through Sparton Records, Warner Bros. Records, United Artists Records, Attic Records, Bradleys Records, Qualiton Imports, IODA, The Orchard, and over a hundred digital stores including, iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Rhapsody, Pandora, Spotify, 7 Digital, AT&T, Verizon, Rogers, Telus and Bell. His music has been recorded by numerous artists. Recently, Andrew produced an album of his songs, "Norm Amadio And Friends", performed by Juno Award winning jazz instrumentalists and vocalists. The album has received terrific reviews as well as domestic and international airplay. He received a Producer of the Year nomination from the East Coast Music Association for this album.
